Cotton shoulder bag, 'Lahu Rainbow'
Thailand's luminous rainbows inspire this bag, crafted in the tradition of the Lahu hill tribe. Sewn by hand, the appliqu work is rich in color. The Lahu people live in Thailand, China and Myanmar and have developed a unique form of appliqu and embroidery work to supplement their community's income. The bag is fully lined. It features an inner pocket with zipper, and the bag itself zips closed. Each piece is a personal expression of the individual artisan, thus the colors and their arrangement can vary from that pictured.
